Faces for Japan [the final video version], 2011

On the 11th of March 2011, the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami hit Japan, the tragic news gave a terrible shock to the whole world.
Immediately after the disaster, I (blancdesign), a Japanese national living in the U.K. started a project, "Faces for Japan", in which I sketched people's portraits and asked for donations in exchange for them. I then uploaded the participants' photos to my blog.
Tec, a Japanese national living in France, sympathised with the project and later joined as another sketcher, therefore "Faces for Japan" had been carried out in the East Midlands, London (U.K.) and Paris (France) by two artists for four months.

Japan received a large amount of donations from various organisations around the world. Although the Japanese do not know the faces of those who donated, each and every yen had sincerity which cheered up every person in Japan, a country very far away.
This video is a slide show of the participants' photo's of "Faces for Japan".

2011年3月11日、東日本大震災が発生し、その悲劇的ニュースは世界を駆け巡りました。

この直後、在英日本人であるblancdesignは、似顔絵を描く対価として募金を頂き、許可を下さった参加者の写真をブログに掲載するプロジェクト、"Faces for Japan"を開始。
途中から企画趣旨に賛同する在仏日本人tecも描き手として参加し、"Faces for Japan"は2人の手で4ヵ月に渡りイーストミッドランド地域及びロンドン（英国）、パリ（フランス）で行われました。

この動画は、"Faces for Japan"に参加下さった方々の写真をスライドショーにしたものです。
世界中の機関を通して被災地へ届けられた巨額の募金。その一円一円に、遠い国の見知らぬ方々の日本を思い遣る気持ちと励ましの笑顔が込められている事を、日本の皆さんに現­実的に感じて貰う小さな手助けとなれば幸いです。
